Alan is a trial attorney admitted to practice before all Oregon courts. Since 2008, Alan has devoted his practice to helping families and individuals resolve their most significant matters. Alan is a commercial litigation attorney who represents clients in a variety of complex, high value commercial disputes. While Alan’s practice regularly includes corporate, partnership and LLC disputes, he also handles real estate controversies, insurance matters and trusts and estate litigation. Alan’s other real estate litigation experience includes transactional disputes, partition claims and foreclosure matters. While Alan frequently resolves litigation through pre-trial motions, he has tried bench and jury trials in state and federal courts and has argued numerous appeals.
Prior to joining Merrill O’Sullivan Stewart, Alan worked as a trial attorney for a well-established firm in Bend, Oregon, and prior to that a firm in Washington, D.C., where he gained valuable experience trying cases in the courts of Maryland and Washington, D.C. Alan serves as a board member of First Story, which provides affordable homeownership opportunities to under-resourced families in the Northwest, breaking cycles of generational poverty. Alan is also an active member of the Penn State Alumni Association.
