Christian P. Foote practices in the areas of business law, real estate, trusts and estates, and litigation.
Clients hire Chris because of his cutting-edge knowledge of the law and industry, practicality, responsiveness, and creativity. He counsels small and mid-sized businesses at every stage of their growth, from entity selection and governance to shareholder and operating agreements, commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, equity and asset purchases and sales, and financing arrangements. In addition, he maintains an active real estate practice representing developers, owners, and investors in real estate transactions of every size, from acquisitions and dispositions through leasing and financing.
Chris also regularly advises individuals and families on estate planning matters. He helps clients design, implement, and enforce comprehensive estate plans to preserve and protect their wealth, with a particular focus on strategies to minimize the impact of the Oregon estate tax.
As an adjunct to his transactional work, Chris relies on his prior career as an AmLaw commercial litigator to help his clients prevail in disputes that can only be resolved in the courtroom. He has extensive experience in federal and state courts and arbitral forums in California, Oregon, Delaware and other states.
Chris lives in Bend, Oregon, with his wife, two sons and two daughters. He is licensed in Oregon and California.
